Cliff reported on the progress of his Sonex build. We’ll plan a meeting at his place in the coming year.
Larry brought in a fiberglass clip board made by the students at the air academy this year. They used a scrap of pajama bottoms underneath the last layer of fiberglass to add some nice aircraft graphics.
Larry also brought in a spark plug from an old radial engine and we discussed why four electrodes vs two. (redundancy and heat capability). Discussed how to read spark plugs to determine how the engine has been running. Larry mentioned that Tempest now has a resistance test set to verify plugs are still good. Half the electrode must be remaining.
Discussed engine timing and data tag information to tell what each engine requires.
